The Healers Project

Decolonizing Knowledge Within Afro-Indigenous Traditions

As this project has grown – to highlight Afro-Indigenous, Afro-descendant, and Indigenous peoples in the Caribbean and the U.S. Pacific Northwest – it became necessary to fully show the place-based, trans-territorial nature of this work. The PNW is not a familiar space for many Caribbean peoples; and the Caribbean islands tend to be completely unknown in the PNW.

We invite you to begin your journey of The Healers Project here. As you scroll down in the StoryMap below, you can get a visual sense of where our featured healers are located, vis-à-vis one another.
